Abstract
The German research project No LimITS (New Economic Developments of Innovative Models for Intelligent Transport Systems) aims to empower electric mobility with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). This is achieved by an integrated mobility network based on the decentrally organized CONVERGE approach [1]. In order to build this network, No LimITS comprehensively considered economic as well as technical aspects, market roles and system requirements. Relevant data was gathered during expert and local stakeholder interviews. Following-up, scenario use-cases have been developed. This way, present paper offers the results on how e-mobility must be technologically integrated to be economically feasible and sustainably successful. Technical and economic requirements for the system design as well as requirements from use-cases and business models generate the basic framework for the architecture. This proposed ITS-architecture broadens its capabilities for the electric mobility market by enhancing CONVERGE with a new service provider aggregation without compromising the estab-lished security and reliability features. Cooperation and collaboration are more and more essential between all stakeholders. Present No LimITS paper provides a market insight and highlights economic as well as technical white spots. Throughout the project, recommendations for more transport efficiency using the architecture have been derived. Theses thematically clustered results display an outlook on the upcoming steps for a successful implementation and address the relevant stakeholder groups directly. Besides local cooperation, key challenges are found in the areas of market launch strategy, technical development, institutional roles or the regulatory framework.
