Prof. Dr Carmen Tanner & Team receive over €1 million in funding

“Promoting Honesty in Business: The Role of Contemplation Questions” – this is what Prof. Dr Carmen Tanner and her team are focusing their research on. Now, in collaboration with the University of Zurich, they can intensify it. The Swiss National Science Foundation and the German Research Foundation have granted research funding of over €1 million. After an intensive approval process, securing this financial support is an extraordinary achievement.

This will benefit the project. Honesty plays a vital role in society and business, supporting mutual trust and efficient interactions. However, as numerous ethical scandals in business have demonstrated, deception, lying, misreporting or fraud are still widespread. Such recurring ethical scandals have raised questions about why people engage in dishonest behaviour. While previous research has uncovered various antecedents of dishonest behaviour, Prof. Dr Carmen Tanner and her team are instead focusing on positive tools by means of which honest behaviour can be actively promoted. Now, as this objective is being supported with appropriate funding, the Leadership Excellence Institute | LEIZ is looking forward to the outcome of this study.
