LEIZ researcher Dominik Fischer was invited to speak at this year’s regional conference of the International Leadership Association (ILA), focusing on Next Generation Leadership in Pretoria, South Africa.
The conference took place in late spring and had three pillars: the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; youth engagement across Africa and the rest of the world with regard to business and society; and a multi-stakeholder perspective.
Fischer presented the latest results of his research which covers all three pillars of the conference. His presentation focused upon leadership in the context of intersectoral networks with an emphasis on the institutional environment of developing and emerging countries. In the course of global operations, relationships with various stakeholders from different sectors need to be established, managed and maintained. This is crucial not only for the management of firms but also for the strategic pursuit of sustainable development goals when forming partnerships with local players such as NGOs or governments. Besides presenting research results, Fischer’s aim was to expand LEIZ' global (academic and corporate) partner network, and to initiate new cross-border research projects.
