On February 15th 2018, the Interdisciplinary Center for Compliance, Integrity & Law | CIL hosted a symposium discussing the challenges digital transformation poses to businesses, the legal profession, and the justice system. Among the issues addressed by the speakers – who represented both the business and the legal sectors – and some 60 participants were: IT compliance management, IT security and crisis management, critical-infrastructure compliance, and chemical compliance.
In his keynote Professor Josef Wieland – Director of LEIZ and Co-director of CIL – pointed out that „through digitalization of business models risks are going to change.” Participants learned, inter alia, about the regulatory framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018, about what drives the increase in the number of cyber attacks, and about recent technological developments that have a bearing on compliance issues.
The Interdisciplinary Center for Compliance, Integrity & Law | CIL is a joint project of Zeppelin University’s Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin | LEIZ and the German Graduate School of Management and Law, Heilbronn (GGS). CIL is jointly headed by Prof Josef Wieland, LEIZ, and Prof Martin Schulz, GGS.
