The joint Lake Constance Innovation Cluster ‘Shaping Digital Transformation’ is driven by both partners’ persuasion that digital transformation poses an existential challenge to German industry and society.
The Lake Constance region, being a highly innovative industrial centre, exemplifies many of those unique strengths of German industry which, in the past few decades, ensured its continued success. At the same time, though, it reflects both the threats triggered by imminent structural change and – one may assume – considerable explicit and implicit knowledge as to how to transform such threats into chances for a new industrial revolution: into chances for sustainably securing the competitiveness of German industry within the framework of massive economic and societal change.
United in their wish to foster the continued success of highly industrialised centres such as the Lake Constance region, SAP SE and Zeppelin University‘s Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin | LEIZ are joining forces to establish the Lake Constance Innovation Cluster ‘Shaping Digital Transformation’. The Lake Constance region will serve as a test laboratory for identifying those factors that – nationwide and possibly beyond – will help to successfully manage digitally-driven structural change. Bringing together research institutions, technology companies, and other relevant stakeholders in the Lake Constance region, the Innovation Cluster is set to systematically and continually identify, process, and disseminate relevant expertise for the benefit of business and society inside as well as outside our region.
