For this year's CSR Award of the German Federal Government, more than 200 companies submitted applications in various categories. In his function as a jury member, LEIZ-Director, Prof Josef Wieland participated in the selection process as well as in the award ceremony where he handed the Award to Grohe AG, the winner in the category „Companies with 1000 and more employees“.
In his laudation, Prof Wieland pointed out that the company consistently aligns its strategic management to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He also stated that Grohe AG has launched various projects – e.g. professional training on sanitation for youths in emerging countries – that are associated with the company’s core business and thereby have become part of its operative management.
The ceremony was held on January 24, 2017 in the Humboldt Carré in Berlin. Patron of the award is the German Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Andrea Nahles.
