The Think20 (T20) is a global network composed of research institutes and think tanks from the G20 countries. During the German G20 presidency in 2016 and 2017, the T20 process is coordinated by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW) and the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE). The T20 aims at providing research-based policy advice to the G20, facilitating interaction and communicating with the public about issues of global importance. As key features of the process, the T20 develops policy recommendations which will be published as Policy Briefs in 2017.
LEIZ Director, Prof Josef Wieland was appointed co-lead of the Working Group "Sustainabilitity in Global Value Chains“ in the Task Force on "Trade and Investment“. Together with Fernando Naves Blumenschein (Brazil), Senior Economist at FGV Europe, and with the other members of the Task Force, he will elaborate a Policy Brief including policy analyses and recommendations to support G20 policy-making and to accompany the preparation of the G20 Summit that will be held in Hamburg in July 2017.
