Permanent Guest Professorship for Consumer Behavior & Consumer Policy | Profile

Professor Dr. Lucia Reisch of the Copenhagen Business School has been researching and teaching since January 2011 as a permanent guest professor for consumer behavior and consumer policy in the area of cultural and communication sciences at Zeppelin University.

„I am thrilled about the new cooperation with ZU, for this offers all under one roof – which is almost unique in Germany: international top research, interdisciplinarity as norm as well as claim, outstanding students, a professional administration and last but not least an uncomplicated cooperation and the freedom to think“ the new ZU guest professor says.

Lucia Reisch is the head of the Scientific Advisory Council for Consumer and Nutrition Politics of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV), as well the head of the "Verbraucherkommission Baden-Württemberg". Additionally, she is a member of the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) of the German federal government, as well as of several supervisory boards (e.g. "Stiftung Warentest"). Together with colleagues from Cornell, Oxford and Aarhus she edits the "Journal of Consumer Policy".

The PhD-holding business scientist has been a professor at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark since 2006. From 1988 to 2004 she was an assistant in the research and teaching area of consumption theory and consumer politics at the Universität Hohenheim. Her current research focuses on the areas of consumer political strategies and models, sustainable consumption and production, communication of sustainability, corporate social responsibility, politics of sustainability and nutrition, and empirical research of consumer behavior.

Professor Dr. Nico Stehr of the department of cultural and communication sciences has known Lucia Reisch and her work for years and is especially pleased with this nomination. "ZU has managed to nominate one of the internationally most important and influential scholars of consumer research. Professor Reisch strengthens an important and growing research field of the university. She is a member of several important committees that aim to work on strengthening the social importance of consumer politics in Germany and Europe."
