The institute researches within the area of innovation management for businesses based on the interaction of strategy, organization and financing. By combining theory and practice of technology and innovation management we examine influencing factors, actors and processes for successful product, service and business model innovations.
Our fields of research encompass open innovation and cross-industry innovation, cooperative innovation processes in networks, business model innovation as well as innovation metrics and culture. Theoretical focal points are resource- and knowledge-based business theories.
We strive for supporting businesses with:
| Enhancing their innovativeness and innovation capacity, e.g. through open and cross-industry innovation or through measuring the success of innovation
| Improving internal and external transfer of knowledge
| Establishing and leveraging innovation networks within and across industry boundaries
| Investigating innovation strategies, culture and organizational capabilities as well as the management of innovation in general
Prof. Dr. Ellen Enkel, head of the Dr. Manfred Bischoff Institute for Innovation Management of EADS and of the Chair for Innovation Management, works primarily practice- and application-oriented. She and her team endeavor to gain insight from operational practice and to develop, implement and optimize new theory-based concepts through an intensive cooperation with businesses as Deutsche Telekom, EADS, Henkel, BMW, etc. The publication formats range from practice-oriented journals to internationally recognized academic journals.
