The Buchanan Institute for Entrepreneurial and Financial Sciences was jointly founded by Zeppelin University and the Buchanan Capital Group. The task of the Buchanan Institute is to implement practically-oriented research projects in an interdisciplinary and individualized way and thus to connect the university and the practice even more closely. The focus of this cooperation is on the area of research on capitalism/capital markets. The aim of the cooperation is to establish and promote a new generation of managers with distinctive competences in culture, capital markets and communication.
As Stephan A. Jansen, president of Zeppelin University, comments: "The combination of entrepreneurial and financial sciences in one chair – this is unique in Germany. The Buchanan Institute for Entrepreneurial and Financial Sciences will be the institution at ZU that deals with entrepreneurship – theoretically, as well as practically. In addition to research, especially the entrepreneurial students are to be promoted further."
"In founding and sponsoring the Buchanan Institute for Entrepreneurial and Financial Sciences we want to make an important social contribution", says Steven Wilkinson, chair of the Buchanan Capital Group. "Here students will learn to expand and focus their perspective for their own entrepreneurial activities – especially due to the holistic combination of well-established and modern, local and international, as well as theoretical and practical aspects. Thus, the Buchanan Institute will develop into a melting pot of very different approaches. This is a great challenge for all parties involved!"
